perceiveWorld is an assistive detection app that helps blind and low-vision users understand their surroundings and receive traffic alerts. This policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information. perceiveWorld is purely assistive; it does not provide medical diagnoses or professional navigation.

1. Information We Collect
We follow the “minimum necessary” principle:

2. How We Use Information
- Perform on-device vision, tracking, and speech to deliver real-time assistance.
- Provide hazard alerts and multilingual narration.
- With your authorization, send detection requests to cloud models (e.g., Qwen) for richer descriptions. Uploaded frames/context are deleted immediately after the response.
3. Storage & Security
- Local-first: Most inference and sensitive data stay on the device.
- Encrypted transport: Any cloud interaction uses TLS/HTTPS and transmits only the minimal fields.
- Retention: Information triggered by you remains on the device and can be deleted at any time.
4. Sharing & Third Parties
We never sell or rent data. Sharing happens only when:
- Cloud inference: With explicit consent, we send requests to model providers (e.g., Alibaba Cloud, DeepSeek) who must honor our privacy requirements.
- Payments: In-app purchases are processed via Apple IAP / official APIs.
- Legal compliance: We may disclose data if required by law or regulators.
5. Your Rights
- Access & correction: View or update language, subscription details in Settings.
- Deletion & withdrawal: Disable camera, delete voice history, revoke log-upload consent.
- Account removal: The app has no login; uninstalling removes your data.
6. Children’s Privacy
The app targets adults or minors accompanied by guardians. If unauthorized use is discovered, uninstall promptly.
7. Policy Updates
We may revise this policy for business or legal reasons. Updates appear in-app or on our site. Major changes (e.g., new data uses) will include prominent notices or confirmation prompts.
8. Disclaimer
perceiveWorld only assists detection. Accuracy (90–97%) depends on lighting, environment, object density, weather, and camera quality. It is not a substitute for professional navigation, medical advice, or safety guarantees. Always stay alert and combine the app with tools like guide dogs, canes, or companions. We assume no liability for incidents or losses arising from use or reliance on the app.
